As a member of Mountain Bike Holidays, we’re the experts for your MTB getaway!
The hoteliers in the group’s certified hotels and regions are always releasing new offers that make their customers’ wishes come true. They are out with their guests every day and are aware of the wide variety of needs. Thanks to the quality of the equipment and services for mountain bikers, Mountain Bike Holidays has been Europe’s market leader since 2008. The annual audit, certified by TÜV Austria, guarantees that high standards are maintained.
Mountain Bike Holidays has three categories: Classic, Elite, and Pro. These represent the bike services offered with certified guides per day and week. We have also been certified by Mountain Bike Holidays and are a member of the Elite category.
This means that we offer the following services.
Set between the emerald Soča River, Nadiža River and the high ridgelines of the Julian Alps, the Soča Valley and the hidden Breginj Combe (Breginjski kot) are a dream base for riders who want big scenery, quiet roads, and true no-borders adventures. From our home base at Rest & Ride in Robidišče—Slovenia’s westernmost village, right on the Italian border—you can link routes on both sides of the frontier in a single day: alpine valleys, forest tracks, warm river swims on the Nadiža, and classic climbs all within easy reach.
Gravel here is all about flowing connectors: old cart tracks, farm lanes, and forest roads that stitch together panoramic ridges, remote hamlets, and border crossings—perfect for loop-building and multi-day touring (including long-distance routes that pass through the area). Expect mixed surfaces, punchy ramps, and constant “stop-for-a-photo” viewpoints.
MTB goes from natural singletrack to built trail zones. Right from Robidišče you’ve got a compact trail center with handbuilt lines (from easy to demanding), plus guiding and shuttle options for bigger days. Across the border, the Natisone valleys and Taipana Trail Zone add enduro/downhill flavour—gravity descents with berms, jumps, and a dedicated jump area—while the broader Natisone Bike Arena network supports everything from beginners to training-focused riders.
Road cycling is pure Julian Alps drama: iconic passes, long climbs, and sweeping descents through glacial valleys. The region is a natural gateway to bucket-list ascents like Vršič Pass, and it’s easy to combine Slovenia and Italy into one “two countries, two passes” training loop.
We offer a curated weekly riding program with 3 guided tours per week, led by experienced guides, plus riding technique training sessions to help guests improve control, safety, and confidence on the trails.
Our guided tours cover the best routes in the area, with a focus on flow, scenery, and local highlights. One of the weekly tours also includes a ride into a neighbouring region, including an organised transfer (start or finish point outside the local area) for a bigger adventure and a wider variety of trails.
Guided services can be booked directly at the hotel (at reception or with the guide).
Jakob, known as JJ, is a former whitewater kayaker and now a passionate mountain biker. His experience in outdoor sports characterises his calm, confident approach to guiding. He knows the region's trails like the back of his hand and attaches great importance to an adapted pace, a clean choice of lines and a shared experience.
He also provides a professional bike service to ensure that the equipment and setup are always right. His tours always end the same way: with tired legs, satisfied faces — and a smile.
All guided bike services are bookable directly at the hotel – simply reserve your spot at the reception or with our bike guide. For a more individual experience, we also offer Private Guiding: tailor-made tours and coaching for solo riders, couples, friends or groups, with flexible timing and route selection.
